Stormwater and Development

NeoCity Infrastructure

The Judge Farm in Osceola County was historically a 474-acre farm comprised of fields for cattle grazing and cultivating crops. The farm is being transformed into a center for advanced technology, including cutting edge sensor development and manufacturing, now known as NeoCity. GEC provided geotechnical engineering, contamination assessment and construction materials testing services for mass grading, drainage, utilities, and transportation infrastructure to support site development. The NeoCity development required up to 10 feet of fill to raise site grades. The design called for excavating a large stormwater lake in the western portion of the site and to use the excavated soil for fill material. GEC’s geotechnical investigation of the proposed lake (borrow source) identified organic soils (muck) and silty and clayey sands typical of lake bottom conditions.
