NASA CAUSEWAY BRIDGE REPLACEMENT

GEC provided geotechnical engineering and contamination screening for the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study and Final Design of the new high-level bridge spanning the Indian River and Intracoastal Waterway. The NASA Causeway is the primary corridor used to transport space vehicles and freight for Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and Commercial Launch Partners to support space launch operations. The new 4000-foot long bridge will be constructed at a maximum grade of 3% to accommodate specialized transport vehicles and will provide 65 feet of vertical clearance at the channel.
