I-4 Maitland Boulevard Sinkhole Stabilization

GEC served as geotechnical engineer of record for the largest individual sinkhole grouting project in U.S. history. Located in Orange County at the intersection of Interstate 4 and Maitland Avenue, the project included the stabilization of a 325-ft diameter sinkhole by installation of over 200 grout injection pipes to depths of up to 350 feet and injection of approximately 40,000 cubic yards of cement grout.
