Job Title:

Geotechnical Engineer (Full Time)

Location: Orlando Office

Job Description:

This is a full-time on-site role for a Geotechnical Engineer at GEC located in Orlando, FL. As a Project Geotechnical Engineer, you will manage geotechnical engineering projects ranging from private developments to roadway widenings under the direct supervision of a Senior Engineer. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing geotechnical proposals
  • Performing site reconnaissance
  • Developing boring plans and managing field operations
  • Soil classification and developing laboratory testing programs
  • Report development, including performing geotechnical analyses
  • Project invoicing

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher with a focus in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering
  • Florida Engineer Intern (EI) certification or the ability to obtain an EI within 6 months of hire
  • Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus but not required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Capable of performing field work including site reconnaissance, hand auger borings, and soil classification
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized and structured, able to work within project constraints and deadlines
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced work environment with an energetic and professional demeanor
