Job Title:
Geotechnical Engineer (P.E.) or Geotechnical Engineer Intern (E.I.) (Full Time)
Location: Orlando Office
Job Description:
This is a full-time on-site role for a Geotechnical Engineer (P.E.) or Engineer Intern (E.I.) at GEC’s main office located in Orlando, FL. As a Project Geotechnical Engineer, you will manage geotechnical engineering projects ranging from private developments to roadway widenings under the direct supervision of a Senior Engineer.
Job Responsibilities and Qualifications:
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Developing geotechnical proposals
- Performing site reconnaissance
- Developing boring plans and managing field operations
- Soil classification and developing laboratory testing programs
- Report development, including performing geotechnical analyses
- Project invoicing
The ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher with a focus in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering. Master’s Degree a plus.
- Florida Engineer Intern (EI) certification
- Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus but not required
- Valid driver’s license
- Capable of performing field work including site reconnaissance and soil classification
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organized and structured, able to work within project constraints and deadlines
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced work environment with an energetic and professional demeanor
