Job Title:

Engineering Field Technician (Full Time) – Entry Level

Location: Orlando Office

Job Description:

As an Engineering Field Technician, you will support the project manager, staff engineers, and field manager by performing soil and construction materials testing. Job duties are predominantly performed outdoors at undeveloped project sites which are sometimes heavily wooded with standing water.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Layout boring locations on site and provide detailed notes of site conditions.
  • Field logging of soil samples collected on site.
  • Coordination/management of on-site drilling crews.
  • Helping to perform drilling operations including manual and machine borings.
  • Communicate with field supervisor, advising of current job status and locations as required.
  • Ensure that project requirements are met and compliant with project specifications, requirements, and company policies or procedures.
  • Operate and maintain testing equipment.
  • Operate and maintain a clean company motor vehicle.
  • Read and interpret construction plans.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 40 to 50 pounds repeatedly.
  • Pass a background check and drug screening.
  • No experience required, however background in construction is a plus.
  • Ability to work outdoors.
  • Must be willing to work some nights and weekends.
  • Willingness to travel out-of-town for short duration assignments.
