Fleet Mechanic (Full Time)

Location: Orlando / Apopka

Job Description:

Geotechnical and Environmental Consultants, Inc. is seeking a skilled and dependable Geotechnical Drill Rig and Fleet Mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing geotechnical drilling equipment, support vehicles, trailers, and other fleet assets to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Job Responsibilities and Qualifications:

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair geotechnical drill rigs, support trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and scheduled servicing on fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Repair hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, diesel engine, and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct welding and fabrication repairs as needed.
  • Maintain records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with drilling crews and management to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and applicable regulations.
  • Assist with maintaining parts inventory and ordering replacement components.

The ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience maintaining heavy equipment, diesel trucks, or drilling equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, electrical systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
  • Ability to read service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic information.
  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors and in shop environments.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.

Preferred Experience:

  • Geotechnical or environmental drill rig maintenance.
  • CAT, Cummins, Ford, Chevrolet, or International diesel engines.
  • Mobile and stationary hydraulic systems.
  • Trailer brake systems and DOT inspections.
  • OSHA and heavy equipment safety practices.
